UBER'S WORKPLACE HAS A CONSTANT VIEW ON THEIR FINAL CUSTOMERS

Uber is opening its new headquarters in San Francisco. The building is designed to be open to the neighborhood, which is itself undergoing redevelopment.

The 40'000 m2 site includes an eleven-story tower and a six-story building. In these buildings, the network of circulation and gathering spaces is called the "Commons". These spaces are all located on the periphery of the buildings, with a direct view on the street. This brings the building into contact with city life, which will serve as ongoing inspiration for the creative work that takes place inside. Uber employees have a near-permanent view of their end customer.

This new workplace is the first building built by Uber. The offices are not set up in open space but in small neighborhoods. Each neighborhood has access to collaborative work areas, and each has its own identity even in the color palette and materials used in the design of the space.

Once completed, the building is expected to meet the requirements of LEED Platinum.
